Due to the many safari-tourists who come to Arusha, the town has been nicknamed Dar Safari (based on Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania). Arusha is one of the most important locations in Tanzania for raw material processing, especially coffee, corn etc. The primary industry in the region is agriculture.
